97th and C Street

At 97th and C Street in Anchorage LDN completed site selection, planning, permitting, and design of a sedimentation pond layout and revegetation, which would achieve water quality improvements in South Anchorage. The conceptual design required analysis of soils, drainage, and vegetation in the affected area, and an analysis of available lands for the site selection. The project also employed an innovative use of frozen ground to allow transplanting of large sections of harvested wetland with the result of almost immediate water quality improvements.

Commercial Drive Sedimentation Basin

At Commercial Drive in north Anchorage LDN designed an artificial wetland to provide both retention and meltwater treatment from a snow disposal site. We used natural vegetation to filter and treat runoff before it reaches a productive salmon stream.

Soldotna Water Quality/Sedimentation Basin

LDN provided planning and design expertise for this project, which created a storm water sedimentation basin utilizing bioremedial revegetation techniques. Work included site analysis and inventory of existing vegetation. LDN worked with engineers to create an enhanced wetlands environment designed to improve water quality and provide wildlife habitat.
