Public

Facilities

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is trying to shape plans for Talkeetna’s public facilities to meet the community’s needs for the next 20 years.

Such possible facilities include:
• Use of Village Park
• Public Playground
• Library Replacement
• Community Hall
• Teen Club
• Sports Fields
• Council Offices
• Visitor Center

LDN is conducting the analysis, which includes:
• Identifying the needs of the community both at present and for the near future.
• Identifying which Borough parcels would fit the needs of the community.

Public Input
Public meetings and input are crucial to the development of these plans. A recent public meeting was held in Talkeetna on July 24th to gather information on the sites that have been already identified as viable and what facilities the community feels are most important.

The next public meeting ....................................... The next public meeting will take place on .. September 27th from 6pm - 8pm at the Senior Center in the main meeting room (Su Valley High School temporary location).

LDN will present concepts for possible development to the community. The final public meeting will take place sometime in late October to early November, where LDN will present its final plans. We welcome your feedback, input and comments.
