Land Design North is working with the Municipality of Anchorage to update the city's 1985 Master Plan for parks, open space and recreation facilities. This project seeks to address changing recreational needs and interests and address other issues affecting more than 200 parks, 400 kilometers of multi-use trails, and hundreds of facilities such as ball fields and skating rinks in Anchorage.

Working closely with Indiana University's Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands, Land Design North has completed an initial round of public meetings, survey, and questionnaires to gather feedback from the community. Ongoing study will include analysis of use, demand, and park standards and classification. A draft plan is due for completion in early 2004.
